Camarosa
American variety, invented in California. Grown since 1993.
It is a short day variety and it's growing and fruiting habit varies a lot depending on climate in which it is grown. It is recommended as a dessert variety number 1 in south of Europe. ln Poland it is a medium early variety, moderately fertile. Fruit are large and attractive, average taste. They are very firm during transport, have good trading quality and are not prone to grey mould rot. Plants have medium strong growing habit, compact and erect. Foliage is rather abundant, prone to strawberry mildew. Plants loss on plantations is usually a result of frost damage and high susceptibility to Verticillum.
